A practical guide to caring for your handcrafted jewelry.

A practical guide to caring for your handcrafted jewelry.

Handcrafted jewelry is so much more than just a simple accessory; these are unique pieces made with natural materials and manual techniques that make them both delicate and special.

Our necklaces are designed to go with you everywhere!

Handmade in Italy with stainless steel components and clasps, they are durable and perfect for the summer, even at the beach. Many of our models, like the Mini Colorate or the classic Collanina Colorata, are crafted with glass beads and designed to be worn every single day, without ever having to take them off. Others, however, like the Long Corallo or the Conchiglie, require a little extra care and attention to keep their charm intact over time.

In any case, whether it’s a beach-ready necklace or a piece for special occasions, proper care makes all the difference. They need a little love, too!

HOW TO CLEAN YOUR HANDCRAFTED JEWELRY

The first rule is to avoid harsh products. Artisan materials, such as coral, pearls, or natural gemstones, are particularly sensitive and can easily be damaged by chemicals. To give them the best protection, it is always best to put your jewelry on after applying makeup, perfume, or lotions, avoiding any direct contact.

Here is what to do:

  • Prepare a bowl with lukewarm water and mild soap (like Castile or Marseille soap).
  • Gently dip your necklace (or bracelet) for just a few seconds.
  • Clean it with a soft microfiber cloth or a soft-bristled toothbrush.
  • Rinse with a little clean water and dry immediately.

Avoid soaking your jewelry for too long. For porous or organic materials (like coral and seashells), it is best to use just a damp cloth.

HOW TO PRESERVE YOUR HANDCRAFTED JEWELRY

Taking care of how you protect your jewelry is essential to keeping it bright and intact over time. Storing each piece properly isn't just a good habit; it’s an important way to prevent damage and help it keep its original shape.

  • Keep your jewelry separated to avoid tangles and scratches.
  • It’s best to place them in cotton or linen pouches, or lined boxes.
  • Keep them away from direct sunlight, humidity, and heat sources.
  • When you’re not wearing them, it’s best to hang them up to keep the thread soft and relaxed; alternatively, you can gently roll them up so the thread doesn't bend or stiffen over time. Never just toss them at the bottom of your bag!

GOOD HABITS TO MAKE THEM LAST FOREVER

Little daily acts of care can make a huge difference. Even the simplest habits, when done consistently, can make your jewelry last much longer. Giving them a little attention every day helps preserve their beauty. It really takes very little, just a gentle touch or being mindful of where you put them away.

  • Always put your jewelry on AFTER applying perfume, lotion, or makeup.
  • Take them off before going to bed or doing intense physical activity. Even if you love them to pieces, they get more stressed than you do on a Monday morning.

Every single one of our pieces is born from a blend of creativity, a love for natural materials, and handcrafted care.

With just a few simple gestures (and a splash of love), your handcrafted pieces will continue to tell stories of color, summer, and freedom.
